Janet has over 10 years of experience in advising, educating, and training professionals, and more than three years of experience as a Career Advisor for young people early in their careers. She has advised hundreds of university students and graduates on topics such as "what do I want to be when I grow up", school/major choice, job search, internships, resumes, social media profiles and more. After three major career changes in her lifetime (including Dance Teacher, Oil Spill Responder, and Career Advisor), Janet also has personal experience with how to answer the great career question, "Now What?". Janet is an expert in internships and early career development, and has a M.Ed. in Student Development from Seattle University.


Janet provides career advising and consulting to young adults (age 18 to 29) all over the world via janetmatta.wordpress.com, on all aspects of early career development. Janet is also currently the Career Advisor at the University of Washington Information School where she is responsible for the Career Development of 950 Information Technology and Library Science students.
