Job Description

Reporting to the General Manager, the Store Associate is responsible for completing duties as assigned according to production and workflow standards, as well as ensuring a positive customer experience in both the front and back of the store.

Full-time positions are scheduled 30-40 hours per week, part-time positions are scheduled 16-24 hours per week.

 

Essential Functions

Operational

  • Maintaining appropriate security of cash and donated goods
  • Operate register, as directed
  • Complying to Agency policies and procedures
  • Ensuring a high level of customer service both front and back

Production

  • Ensuring quick placement of high-quality, processed goods to the sales floor
  • Assisting to meet production numbers as set by divisional management
  • Ensuring loss prevention and process flow guidelines are followed

Safety

  • Performing duties according to safety expectations and procedures
  • Ensuring the physical safety of the back room and sales floor
  • Communicating safety issues and concerns to ensure quick resolution
  • All other duties assigned by the General Manager

Register Operation

  • Ability to operate a cash register and POS system
  • Ability to count change, count down cash drawers and complete accompanying paperwork

Donation Door and Material Handling:

  • Greeting customers and accepting donation and issuing receipts
  • Operating a hand stacker and pallet jack

The Store Associate will be a proven leader with the following:

  • Experience in customer service preferred
  • Comfort with handling cash and operation of a cash register
  • Understanding of the importance of the donor process and how it supports the mission
  • Ability to perform job duties safely
  • The incumbent should have at least 6 months of work history, unless this is their first job
  • High school diploma or equivalent is not required.
  • Operation of the hand stacker will require the ability to become certified in its operation
