About This Role:

The Technology Development Institute (TDI) at Kansas State University seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer to design, build, and test products and machines for a variety of commercial industries. The primary responsibilities will be mechanical design engineering and project management.

Preference is given to candidates with five to seven years of relevant experience. A four-year mechanical and/or agricultural engineering degree with an emphasis in machine design and at least five years of design engineering experience in multi-disciplined project-based environments is preferred.

What You'll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Requires a bachelor's degree and three years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Preference is given to candidates with five to seven years of relevant experience. A four-year mechanical and/or agricultural engineering degree with an emphasis in machine design and at least five years of design engineering experience in multi-disciplined project-based environments is preferred.
  • Prefer extensive experience in product and/or machine design, mechanical testing and prototyping. Preferred master's degree in engineering. Experience in electro-mechanical design considered a plus.
