We are looking for our next Scientist II - Pet Food

In this role you will exhibit proven product design capabilities and project planning abilities utilizing creativity, innovation, and presentations skills to provide best-in-class support to IFF clients. This includes testing, analytical procedures, equipment setup and preparation of standards and product materials under moderate supervision. Employees in positions at this level apply scientific research in specific areas of assignments and related fields. You may supervise/coordinate staff as appropriate and will continue to extend knowledge of ingredients, customer bases, processes, and flavor interactions in category applications.

Job Requirements

  • Develop and conduct experiments for a variety of pet food projects and activities to be carried out individually and in collaboration with other.
  • Create value-added solutions for the pet food industry leveraging IFF portfolio and build strong technical credibility with customers.
  • Experience with pet food processes, e.g. extrusion, thermal processing, meat rendering and/or baking
  • Keep up-to-date on trends, new technical developments and competitor's activities by monitoring applications for processing systems and ingredients.
  • Provide technical services to Customers, Sales and Divisions as needed (plant trials, troubleshooting, and training).
  • Implement and adhere to IFF core values and safety initiatives.
  • May develop or assist with development of new product and application literature, including technical reports, invention disclosures and patents.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation for experiments, GMPs, FSMA, Bioterrorism and others as required.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

  • To successfully perform the requirements of this position, the incumbent must possess a minimum four year Biological, Chemical or Food Science or related degree
  • Experience typically gained through severalyears in the food industry plus a minimum of 2 years in the specific field of expertise (Pet Food Industry).


WORKING CONDITIONS

  • This position operates in a laboratory/pilot plant environment and may require outside travel up to 30% of the time.
  • This position may require heavy lifting up to 50 lbs and working with hazardous materials.
