About This Role:

This position leads and develops K-State's Conflict of Interest/Conflict of Time (COI/COT) program to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations. The incumbent works under the direction of the Division of Risk and Safety with additional reporting responsibilities to the University Research Compliance Office and the Office of Institutional Effectiveness.

Position Description:

50% Program Leadership

Lead and develop K-State's COI/COT program to ensure compliance with Federal and State regulations.

Implement existing and new policies for the COI/COT program.

Identify need, develop, and deliver campus-wide training for the upcoming online disclosure interface for the COI/COT program.

Monitor and evaluate changes to federal and state regulations and develops responsive adjustments to K-State's COI/COT approaches and processes.

Develop and enforce university COI/COT policies and procedures.

Liaise with the University Research Compliance Office and the Office of Institutional Effectiveness as well as other university offices to ensure holistic and well-coordinated program development and delivery.

40% Program Administration

Oversee the University's annual reporting mechanisms for COI/COT.

Review COI/COT potential conflicts and engage with K-State personnel to manage these conflicts.

Serve as the administrator for the Conflict Management Plan Review Committee.

Support institutional leadership in reviewing policy noncompliance issues and assist in developing conflict management plans.

Lead implementation of the technology platform for COI/COT management.

Work with the Research Security Officer and other related personnel to manage undue foreign influence risks.

Fulfill reporting responsibilities to the University Research Compliance Office and the Office of Institutional Effectiveness.

10% Program Education

Develop comprehensive a campus-wide strategy for COI/COT education.

Develop and deliver education programs and training materials to university stakeholders.

Coordinate with other offices across the university for educational program delivery as appropriate. They will provide guidance to faculty and staff while liaising with other offices throughout the University.

What You'll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Requires a bachelor's degree and 5 years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in Higher Education environments
  • Working knowledge of regulations governing conflict of interest/conflict of time and undue foreign influence
  • Experience developing new programs, establishing policies and working across a large institution
  • Experience in an administrative position managing COI compliance
