Job Summary:

The Buyer facilitates the procurement of company supplies and services. You'll perform a wide variety of buying assignments, which require experience and knowledge of vendors, delivery and price. This position reports directly to the Plant Manager and will work from our Shawnee, KS office.


Responsibilities:

  • Process requisitions, research products, and clarifies specifications.
  • Follow up on back orders, help to expedite delivery of orders,and make special arrangements for delivery when necessary.
  • Research and select vendors in given circumstances, evaluate vendor performance, and utilize different vendor sources to fill orders based on knowledge of commodity.
  • Maintain an updated filing system on pricing and vendors to ensure immediate and accurate access to information.
  • Search out alternate vendors or supplies during periods of shortages or stock outs.


Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Economics, Business, or a related field with 1-3 years of experience in buying for a manufacturing organization.
  • Background knowledge in cost analytics, SAP use preferred, and well-developed organizational skills.

Applicants can expect a base compensation range of $71,8000 - $107,700, plus benefits and additional incentives based on the level of the role. This is the reasonable estimate that Belden believes it might pay for this job based on applicable circumstances at the time of posting. Belden may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law, and commensurate with the applicant's experience, qualifications, and geographical location.
