About the Role

The People Generalist for PSI supports the day-to-day operation of the People function and stakeholder groups across the US. This role is a true generalist role, responsible for creating a world class experience for all employees at all stages of the employee life cycle. In line with our values, the person in this role must have an amazing customer approach and will be the first point of contact who will provide timely and credible advice and counsel. They work closely with the wider People global team to deliver Lifelong Learner's People agenda.

This is a permanent role (full or part-time), with flexible working but core availability through Monday-Friday office hours. The role is performed remotely, with occasional opportunities to travel available for in-person workshops and delivery.

Role Responsibilities
  • Support the People team with the whole employee life cycle such as on and offboarding, employee relations, change management, policies and procedures and assisting with projects when required.
  • Support the team with data processing and submissions where relevant.
  • Be pragmatic and commercial in your approach to advising the managers on employment matters to ensure effective management of all employees.
  • Act as the first point of contact for all ER matters such as investigations, grievances, disciplinaries, absence management, performance management etc.
  • Keep up to date with employment law changes and filter these throughout the People function, driving best practice and making sure the department is compliant.
  • Ensure the People system is maintained and up to date.
  • Build strong professional relationships with employees across all levels of the business by providing first class People support.
  • Help implement global initiatives to develop high employee engagement.
  • Work with the Learning and Development team to implement training in the region.
  • Work with the wider People team to ensure all projects are rolled out effectively in the region.
  • Work with the People Partners and VP, People to ensure all information is provided in an accurate and timely manner to our business unit leaders.
  • Actively identify gaps, propose and implement changes to process and procedure to ensure we continually deliver a great employee experience.
  • Provide reports to the business regarding People metrics.
  • Ensuring 100% compliance around core People processes e.g. right to work checks.
  • Support the wider Global People team on rolling out initiatives where required.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required, Bachelor's degree in People/HR related field preferred.
  • Previous experience in People/HR environment essential.
  • Excellent US employment law knowledge required.
  • Strong integrity and ability to discretely handle sensitive, confidential information is essential.
  • Experience of working on multiple assignments and prioritizing demands in a high-energy, fast paced environment preferred.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and interact with all levels of the organization preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail, communication and follow-up skills required.
  • Experience of working in companies of comparable size and geographical complexity desirable.
  • Research and data analysis skills desirable.
  • Proficiency with MS Office desirable, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
