About This Role:

The College of Ag/KSRE Business Services Unit at Kansas State University seeks an Accounting Specialist to support accounting activities. Duties include: coordinating and managing various activities by applying thorough knowledge of state, federal, and university procedures; completing payment documents to ensure deadlines are met; receiving and processing university monies, including cash, checks, credit card, and electronic fund transactions. This position will perform all tasks relevant to recording and auditing transactions and provide customer support for questions, concerns, or problems relevant to particular accounting functions or regulations.

What You'll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Graduation from High School
  • Six months of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in accounting, or administrative support.
  • Two years of experience in an accounting support position
  • Demonstrated ability in performing highly-detailed tasks, including data entry
  • Demonstrated ability in operating computers, copiers, and scanners
  • Experience with accounting software
  • Experience responding to the needs and requests of a wide range of clients in a friendly and effective manner.

Anticipated Hiring Pay Range:

$14.25 - $17.30 ($29,650 - $36,000)

Please note: the minimum salary for this position is $29,650. Actual salary will be determined based on the candidate's experience, education, internal equity, and departmental funding. Salary offers are typically made between the minimum and midpoint of the salary range. The range indicated includes both the typical hiring range and potential future progression.
