The Life Span Institute is seeking a Clinical Research Assessment Specialist to conduct clinical, psychological, and educational assessments for research projects at the Life Span Institute focused on intellectual and developmental disabilities. This position will support the implementation of state-of-the-art measurement strategies for quantifying the characteristics and support needs of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities participating in research projects as well as tracking outcomes of participants in research projects. This position will support multiple projects and project teams to objectively identify participants who meet inclusion/exclusion criteria, establish diagnoses of participants, track outcomes using established research protocols, consult on the development of assessment protocols for planned studies, and support the training of study team members on assessment implementation, scoring, and interpretation.

This person also will promote their support services to research teams at KU and KUMC as they seek to increase the number of projects that they are involved with. The successful applicant will have experience in the administration, scoring, and interpretation of a range of psychological and educational assessments, including experience with autism diagnostic assessments [e.g., Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS-II); Autism Diagnostic Interview (ADI-R)], and will support the development and implementation of extramural funding proposals, specifically components related to psychological and behavioral assessment protocols.

50% - Implementation of Assessment Protocols - Lead the implementation of clinical, psychological, and educational assessments consistent with research protocols, guided by best practice standards. Includes scoring of protocols, coordinating entry into data systems, and working with project teams to interpret assessment outcomes and track implementation of assessment batteries.
25% - Support Grant Development - Support development of protocols for grant proposals, specifically defining state of the art measurement approaches to establishing diagnoses and characterize clinical samples.
15% - Train staff to implement protocols - train students, other team members, and other project staff in assessment protocols, monitor fidelity to protocols, and ensure training and re-training as needed.
10% - Dissemination - support disseminating of findings, including analysis and publication of assessment findings, supporting integration of measures in analysis plans, write up of assessment protocols, and reports required for projects.
Position Requirements

Work Location: This work location will be a hybrid of on-site and remote.
Required Qualifications
- Doctoral degree in Psychology, Education, or related field OR Master's degree in Psychology, Education, or related field, and three years of experience in implementing psychological and educational assessments with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
- Two years experience managing and tracking the implementation of assessment protocols in research projects.
- Experience managing multiple concurrent projects and deadlines as evidenced by application materials.
- Excellent communication skills as evidenced by application materials.
- Experience working both independently and with collaborative teams as demonstrated by application materials.
- Evidence of research reliability on gold-standard measures of diagnosing autism as demonstrated by application materials.
- Experience with observational protocols for tracking outcomes in research studies.
- Experience training other team members in administering and scoring assessment protocols for funded grant projects.
- Experience in clinical and community settings.
- Evidence of publications and experience in presentations related to intellectual and developmental disabilities.
