Position: Tax Associate
Department: Finance
Reporting to: Tax Specialist
Location: Onsite; Topeka KS
Overview:
Are you passionate about precision? Do you enjoy research and critical thinking? We are looking for a detail orientated individual to join our Finance team as a Tax Associate. In this role, you will assist with a wide variety of accounting and tax related responsibilities, including preparing sales tax returns, annual reports, and 1099's for multiple entities. What you'll do:
  • Prepare sales tax returns in multiple states for multiple entities
  • Research state sales tax requirements
  • Prepare annual reports in multiple states for multiple entities
  • Prepare mailings for quarterly and annual tax filings
  • Assist with preparing tax payments and updating spreadsheets related to tax filings
Experience you'll bring:
  • Previous experience with Quickbooks
  • Previous experience preparing tax returns
  • Ability to independently research and analyze state tax regulations and standards to ensure compliance and accuracy in tax return preparation
  • Time management and ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Detail oriented, motivated, dependable, and quality oriented
  • Strong organizational skills: capacity to manage heavy workload while navigating a variety of competing, ever-changing priorities
  • Ability to work independently, but also as a collaborative team member
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook

  • Previous accounting/bookkeeping experience
